“The Duke Room”
The Silver Hill Volunteer Fire Department operates “The Duke Room,”** our hall that hosts BINGO weekly, as well as private rentals for your next event. The hall is located on the east wing of the firehouse, and is equipped with its own exterior entrance. The extensive space is perfect for your next celebration, meeting, or special event. **Our Hall is named after our first Fire Chief, H. A. Duke, who was appointed to this position in November 1945, when the Silver Hill Citizen’s Association met to consider the fire problem and decided to form the Silver Hill Volunteer Fire Department and Rescue Squad, Inc. H. A. Duke also served as President for nine (9) years.
