Silver Hill Volunter Fire Department

Silver Hill Volunteer Fire Department is located less than one (1) mile from the District Columbia, operating under the Prince George’s County Fire / EMS Department. Since 1945, we have been providing Emergency Services to the citizens of Silver Hill and Prince George’s County. We are a proactive department, determined to offer the citizens the best quality of care possible. The men and woman of the department constantly train and hone their skills to make sure we stay on top of our game, ready to respond when called upon.

Our response area is diverse, in that we responding to major highways; both residential and commercial areas; schools; shopping malls; high-rises and garden style apartments; Government facilities. We are located close to the University and Maryland, and within thirty (30) minutes of some of the city’s major Universities including George Washington University, Georgetown University, Howard University, UMBC, PGCC.

Aside from responding to 911 calls, Silver Hill Volunteer Fire Department is dedicated to providing community fire prevention and public safety education to our citizens, ensuring that your safety comes first. We offer various programs to ensure that both you and your family are safe including our smoke detector initiative, CPR classes, family escape plan education, and inspections. Our location next to the city provides us with the unique opportunity of a “city style” environment with a high and very diverse call volume.
