At 1740 hrs. The box was struck for 4545 Wheeler Rd. for smoke coming from the building, Bringing Engine 842, 829, 817, 827, Trucks 829, Tower 821, and Truck 826. While in route Engine 842 advised they were coming from another call and that engine 829 would be first due. Ambulance 829 arrived on the scene first and advised that they had smoke showing, chief 821 arrived shortly afterwards and went to the rear to find heavy smoke coming from a garage door that was under the building. Engine and truck 829 arrived on the scene laid a line from the driveway and went to the rear. The crew pulled the 1 ¾ attack line to the garage door, the truck took a saw to get the garage door open. The crews worked to get the door open and the engine took the line in and knocked the fire down in the garage. Engine 817 took a back up line in to help. Company 29 along with tower 821 was held to get the smoke out on the upper floors and to wait for the fire investigator.
